Coaching is a relationship between two parties, the coach and client, or group of clients.
The coach's role is to steer, guide, direct the client into finding a solution to the problem, themselves, that they have decided to resolve.
The coach uses powerful techniques, which are interpretted by the "other than conscious"
mind of the client mainly, enabling them to see the issue in many more ways than they were previously
choosing to see it.
Starting a coaching relationship means that you will have a trained professional by your side,
asking you the right questions, at the right time to help you come to the most effective
solution yourself.
The coach will only work with the clients view of the world, sometimes challenging what may
show up as a limiting belief, or irrational interprettation to realise what they are really capable of
and help them move forward to where they want to be.
After a coaching session clients have said that they -
- - have suddenly felt extremely powerful in situations that they previously feared
- - gained a clear understanding about what they really wanted
- - felt like running out of the room and just getting on with things
- - felt like a big weight was lifted off their shoulders
- - noticed exactly how they were breathing
- - became aware of their un-conscious behaviour patterns
- - were amazed at what they were saying about a problem situation
- - weren't sure exactly what changed but liked the way they were feeling great
- - finally got a good night's sleep
Where can coaching take place? Top
Coaching can take place pretty much where ever the client wants it to, helping to work around the clients schedule and convenience.
Meeting the client in a public place like the lobby of a busy hotel or a quiet coffee shop can be an ideal location for some coaching techniques.
We have a very tranquil coaching environment at the offices of Positive New Directions as some sessions require more privacy than others. There are also techniques that require more physical involvement and it may be more appropriate to come to our offices.
NLP or Neuro-Linguistic Programming is the study of subjective human experience.
It is an attitude, and applied psychology that built on a number of pre-suppostions, one of them is that "we already have all the resources within, to be successful" and there are many ways of defining success.
NLP is also known as the study of excellence, with the belief that excellence can be modelled, copied by the effective use of body language, words, tone, timbre, volume, pauses in sentences etc.
In my view "adopting the NLP way of seeing life" opens up a whole new world of possibilites that you may or may not currently be aware of, right now!
What Is Neuro-Linguistic Programming used for? Top
NLP can enhance many, many areas of your life, easily, and effortlessly.
A large part of NLP therapy is about having an inner release which can be highly beneficial in all parts of your body and your life. The right approach is possible to achieve ongoing happiness and lasting inner peace, you really can live life the way you want to live it.
Coaching and NLP is one of the safest methods of working with someone as the client does all the change work. The trained coach guides the client by the many different possibilities, but the client makes all the changes.
Sometimes the client may not want to elude the content of a particular problem situation and this is ok as alot of change work techniques can be done content free i.e We don't need to know the content of a particular situation to be able to coach you through it.
The coach will use many techniques to utilise the power of the "other than conscious" mind to get an ecological/workable solution to a problem..
